Crossroads Christian Church in Ohio has teamed up with RIP Medical Debt, a med debt nonprofit, to deliver $46.5 million dollars in miracles to 45 thousand families in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana.
Families in those four states will be receiving bright yellow letters in the mail soon with the news that their medical debt has been wiped out! Crossroads Christian Senior Pastor Brian Tome read a sample letter to his congregation on November 23rd that said, ‘congratulations, your debt has been paid because someone loves you and there is a God that has not forgotten about you’.
Tome told Fox news, “Churches are at our ideal when we are a blessing to real people in our communities, we’re not here to just have big Sunday meetings.”
The pastor shared a response letter from one recipient, “I received this piece of mail in this bright yellow envelope and started to throw it away,” Tome read. “But when I saw that it said your medical debt has been paid, I thought, ‘seriously, wait a minute.’ When I read it I got emotional – the person continued – because I have been so needing a break with getting my credit together. I really appreciate the gift.”
According to New York based RIP Medical Debt for every $100 donated, $10,000 in medical debt is paid! This feat by Crossroads Christian church is the largest amount of medical debt paid in the nonprofit’s history.
